The last option that should not be overlooked is a portable DVD player.  It looks like a laptop computer, but is smaller and lighter.  It can be taken anywhere with you.  The kids can easily set it up in the back seat and watch a movie, or take it along on an airplane ride.  The versatility of this option gives it a significant draw.
